In these two large airlines firm, oligopoly is applied in Air Asia Bhd and Malidon Airlines. Oligoply is a market where firms are competing with each and other. Air Asia remains stable by the aggressive expansion plans announced recently by its competitor Malindo Airlines.

The chief of Air Asia Bhd stated that friils-free airline is not really worried about the competition pose by its competitors due to the difference in the business model. Air Asia Airlines do welcome them because they can be improved when competitors existed.

Malindo airline is reported as desire to start with more routes and competing with Air Asia Bhd.  Air Asia has a complete travel map via set of connections for his customers which compared to Malindo Airlines.

These two firms work so hard to keep innovating and developing themselves is to compete and survive is this crucial oligopoly market. This is good to consumer and also the advantages of oligopoly.

  4. Basically the disadvantages of oligopoly are slightly same as Monopoly which is new firms cannot enter the market easily because of various barriers of entry. And oligopoly can charges high price also because of little competition in market...
